FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL

I don't identify as a person of color. Am I invited?

Absolutely! This festival is open to EVERYONE and we simply focus on highlighting people of color and their allies as part of the festival.

Which event should I attend? I can’t choose.

The Main Dish is our signature event! If you can only attend one event, we suggest that one 🙂 Otherwise, each event has its own vibe.

  • Large festival vibes: The Main Dish, Brown is Beautiful Afterparty
  • Intimate sit down dinner with pairings: Family Meals

Is all food and drink included in the ticket price?

YES! All food & drink tastings are included in your ticket price from all our featured vendors.

The only thing NOT included are our Marketplace Vendors who will be selling a variety of pre-packaged goods, coffee, art, jewelry, massage/chiropractic services and more!

What is POC Food & Wine Festival (POCFW)?

POC Food & Wine Festival is a celebration of the global majority and our allies in food, wine, music, and culture. Over a 4-day festival, we are showcasing some of the top POC (people of color) chefs, caterers, wine, spirits, and beverage brands including Zero Proof vendors, as well as DJs, creatives, and live musicians.

Are all POCFW events 21+?

Yes, all POCFW events are 21+. A valid ID is required for admission at all festival events. If event staff can’t verify your age, you will not be admitted into the event. Anyone under the age of 21 will be refused entry and tickets will not be refunded.

Can I bring my child or baby?

All POCFW events are 21+ so no children or infants are allowed to attend any festival event.

Will there be a MOTHER’S ROOM available if I need to pump?

Yes! We will have a dedicated Mother’s Room available with a refrigerator available for storing milk. Inquire at Check In and we will show you the room.

Will there be a COAT CHECK?

  • Berkeley venue: Yes, on Saturday at the main festival there will be coat check available for a minimal fee all day.
  • San Francisco venue: There will be coat racks available, but they will be unattended so we recommend only bringing what you need.

Will there be All Gender Restrooms?

Yes, ALL bathrooms at the venue are  all gender and mostly single stall.

What if I have special dietary needs?

POCFW will feature diverse culinary options, but we cannot guarantee being able to accommodate specific dietary requests, including preferences and allergies, at this event. Some chefs will be offering plant-based options, but not every booth will.

What is the DRESS CODE for the festival?

DRESS TO IMPRESS FOR YOURSELF.

Do you, boo. There is no specific dress code, but we encourage you to take the opportunity to rock your flyest fit and honor our event values of celebrating your culture loud and proud! Come in whatever makes you feel like your best, as we’ll have a ton of photo opps for you as well.

If you’re planning on staying the whole day on Saturday from Main Dish to the Brown is Beautiful Afterparty, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes, or even bringing a change of clothes if you’d like to refresh yourself in between events. We’ll have glam rooms ready, and also will have paid Coat Check available for you to utilize.

All events are indoors, so no need to worry about the weather.
